Optimal Headlight Restoration Process
Our headlight restoration process is designed to safely remove oxidation, restore clarity, and protect your headlights for long-lasting results.
1. We begin by wet sanding the headlights with 800 grit sandpaper to remove heavy oxidation and surface damage. This step eliminates the cloudy buildup and prepares the lens for refinement.
2. Next, we sand with 1,000 grit to further remove oxidation while beginning to smooth out the initial sanding marks.
3. We then move to 1,500 grit, where noticeable clarity improvements start to appear as the lens surface becomes more refined.
4. The process continues with 2,500 grit sanding, followed by a final 3,000 grit sanding step. These stages smooth the lens even further and prepare it for polishing.
5. Once sanding is complete, we compound the headlights using a machine polisher, cutting compound, and cutting pad to remove remaining sanding marks and restore transparency.
6. We follow with a fine polish and polishing pad to maximize clarity and achieve a clean, crystal-clear finish.
7. To complete the service, we apply a durable sealant that protects the headlights for up to six months, helping prevent future oxidation and maintaining improved visibility.
